Retratos da quarentena

Durante o isolamento imposto pela pandemia de Covid-19, o rosto humano ganhou novos significados. Privados do contato físico, passamos a enxergar no outro — ainda que através de telas — um refúgio, um espelho, um mistério a ser decifrado.
Esta série reúne retratos criados nesse período de introspecção, nos quais busquei capturar não apenas a superfície, mas algo da atmosfera densa e silenciosa que nos envolvia. Cada rosto é um testemunho daquele tempo estranho: a vulnerabilidade, o cansaço, a esperança contida, a presença ausente.
São exercícios de olhar e de memória, feitos entre um noticiário e outro, enquanto o mundo lá fora parecia suspenso.


During the isolation imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the human face acquired new meanings. Deprived of physical contact, we began to see in others — even if through screens — a refuge, a mirror, a mystery to be deciphered.
This series brings together portraits created during that period of introspection, in which I sought to capture not only the surface but something of the dense and silent atmosphere that surrounded us. Each face bears witness to that strange time: vulnerability, exhaustion, contained hope, absent presence.
These are exercises in looking and remembering, made between news broadcasts, while the outside world seemed suspended.
